Pre-Season information
Good afternoon!
We're excited that registration is underway and that our 6 and Under and 7-8 and age groups have filled up quickly. Our 9-10 age group is almost full and 11 and ups will be sure to follow! We're happy to be growing and look forward to seeing everyone soon.
We are currently working with our facility management to utilize the clubhouse for a parent meeting and suit sizing; as soon as we know the availability, we will let you know! We will be happy to answer questions then as well as make sure that suits are ordered and delivered in time for our meets to begin in June.
If you have questions before that, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. [email protected] is the best way to contact us.
Questions we've had thus far:
Can we wear any suits to practice? YES! Team suits are needed for meets only, but please find a suit that your swimmer is going to be comfortable in for practices. One-piece suits are highly encouraged for girls and either a speedo or a jammer for boys.
Do we need caps/goggles, etc.? While the swimmers are the bodies in the water competing, the equipment does make it easier! I recommend a swim cap for anyone with hair longer than their ears and goggles for anyone that wants to see where they're going. (Speedo Vanquisher 2.0 are my favorite) The team will provide kickboards and pull buoys, but f you'd like to purchase your own, you are more than welcome to do so.
When do practices start? MAY 2nd (I know the confirmation email said April 19th, but unfortunately our pool is under construction until the end of April)
What time is my swimmer's practice? Current practice times can be found on our website, but are subject to change based on the number of kids per age group. The time frame that is there now will not change until registration closes.
Can my swimmer practice with another group or attend more than one practice a day? This answer will depend on the number of swimmers in the water, the ability level of the swimmer, and the coaches available for each practice.
Are these swim lessons? The answer is a technical NO. We do teach all four strokes and will work with a swimmer to give them the best opportunity to compete, but as it is stated on our website, the swimmer should be confident in their ability to make it across the pool on their own before joining the swim team. Private and semi-private lessons can be acquired outside of practice hours by speaking with a coach. The more practice a swimmer has in the water, the better off they are in their competition.
When are the meets? Our meet schedule is set online, please make sure you block off at least 3-4 hours from start to finish and plan on helping out where you can. "Many hands make light work" and we'll need to band together to make these meets a success.
Can my business sponsor the team? 100% YES! We're a part of the community and we're excited to show our support and have that support shown to us as well. If you'd like to have your business logo displayed on shirts/banners etc, please reach out and we'll get you in contact with our sponsorship coordinator.
We know this is a lot of information, but we want to communicate as much as possible.
We're happy that you're here and we can't wait to start the journey this summer. Hopefully, we'll see you soon!
Torpedoes Away!
